AEP Nature Explore Classroom
Calling all families, teachers, youth group leaders!
Trees Indiana has partnered with Northwest Allen County Schools to offer our community (and surrounding region) an innovative outdoor learning space designed to provide youth with positive experiences that can help shape their lives. Trees Indiana uses the classroom year-round for programming and as a field trip site, which is located at Cedar Canyon Elementary School.
In the spring of 2011 Trees Indiana was awarded a major gift from the AEP Foundation for the design and construction of a Nature Explore classroom. Using research-based, field-tested activities that support comprehensive learning with nature Trees Indiana measures the following goals:
- Inspire the next generation of tree planters and environmental stewards
- Provide places for stimulating, hands-on spontaneous outdoor play
- Positively influence children, families, and communities
